Showers expected Friday, possibly through weekend

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Friday morning rain showers are pushing east of Nashville and the I-65 corridor at midday, but will continue across eastern and extreme southern sections Middle Tennessee into the early afternoon.

Through the rest of the afternoon into this evening, there's a 20% chance that isolated thunderstorms may develop, but dry weather should dominate in most areas. It will only take a few breaks of sunshine to push temperatures into the upper 70s.

As strong storms in Missouri and Arkansas develop this afternoon and evening, we can’t rule out the small chance of hail or damaging winds in the northwest corner of Middle Tennessee late this evening through tonight. Strong storms are not expected for the rest of the area.

Late Friday night into Saturday morning offers a 50% chance of showers or possibly a passing thunderstorm.

For Saturday afternoon activities, have the umbrella handy, but the chance of additional showers or storms drops to 30%. Don't cancel any plans, but keep an eye on the sky. Highs will reach 80 degrees.

Mother’s Day Sunday looks warmer, in the middle 80s. There's a slim 20% chance of a storm in the morning, which climbs to 40% during the afternoon. It definitely won't be an all day washout.
