NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
With the NFL Draft less than 24 hours away, UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr continues to be most popular pick to go to the Tennessee Titans with the 11th pick overall.
The Titans need a pass rushing threat on the outside as they transition to a 3-4 defense and Barr certainly fits the bill.
The six foot, four inch, 255 pounder has great speed and racked up 23.5 sacks over the last two years with the Bruins.
The Titans are also in a unique position to know more about Barr than any team in the league. New Titans linebacker coach Lou Spanos was Barr’s defensive coordinator UCLA.
Titans general manager Ruston Webster acknowledged the advantage, “ Our scouts talked to Lou when they went into the school, so really it was nothing new but, we use all of the resources we can…. Just any resource we have and Lou was obviously a very good one for not only Anthony, but for all of the UCLA players and even, even some of the guys who are in the Pac 10 that he played against or the Pac 12.”
Other popular picks for the Titans at 11 include cornerback Justin Gilbert, offensive tackle Taylor Lewan and linebacker C.J. Mosley.
