Woman accused of stealing credit cards from fellow nurses

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A former Nashville nurse who was first in the news in 2012 after she was caught on tape fleeing from deputies with her toddler in the back seat faces, more trouble.

Jennifer Davis was charged with DUI, evading arrest and assault on a police officer for the incident. She also received two years probation.

News 2 learned on Wednesday, Davis has been arrested again for allegedly stealing from fellow nurses.

According to a police affidavit, Davis allegedly went into one of fellow nurses purses at St. Thomas Midtown hospital, where she used to work, and took a credit card.

Documents show Davis later used the stolen credit card at Midtown Wine and Liquors on Church Street for a purchase totaling $6.54.

After realizing her credit card was missing, the victim checked her account where she noticed the purchase at the liquor store.

Surveillance video showed Davis using the stolen card.

Davis, who lives at a Murfreesboro half-way house, turned herself in on charges of theft of property, fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft on April 8.

News 2 was unable to reach Davis, we did speak to several of her roommates.

“She’s in recovery. She’s trying at this point,” one roommate said. “I don’t know if she will succeed.”

When sober, a roommate who only wanted to be identified as Michelle, said Davis is, “very polite, real kind and nice. [She’s] the best person you’d ever want to meet.”

Davis is charged with three counts associated with stealing the nurse’s credit cards.

The Williamson County district attorney said her recent arrest violates the terms of her probation.
