NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A 22-year-old man was killed in a shooting overnight Tuesday at an apartment complex on Bell Road.
Metro police said Michael Pillow was at a relative’s apartment in the Summerwind complex located at 344 Bell Road near Percy Priest Lake when, detectives were told, another resident in the same building called out and challenged Pillow to a fight.
When Pillow came downstairs into the open at 11:45 p.m., he was ambushed by armed men and shot multiple times.
Officers arrived on the scene to find Pillow deceased in a breezeway.
Investigators have since identified Eric Carter, 22, as a person believed to have knowledge of the specifics of the dispute and the gunmen involved.
Carter lives in the same apartment building. Officers found the door to his unit open. Carter, however, had fled the premises.
He is now being sought for questioning.

At the time of his murder, Pillow was on parole in regard to a 2012 attempted second-degree murder conviction for which he received an eight-year sentence.
