Man in custody after 2 shot at Hickman County campground

NUNNELLY, Tenn. -

Two people were shot at a campground in Hickman County Saturday night.

It happened at Pinewood Canoe and Camp on Cash Hollow Road in Nunnelly, about an hour west of Nashville.

Scott Smith, chief deputy with the Hickman County Sheriff's Department, told News 2 deputies responded to the campground around 9:30 p.m. to find two victims with gunshot wounds.

The victims, Robert McGill, 22, of Columbia, and Patrick Carr, 27, of Nashville, were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Justin Wise, 20, of Bob Bon Aqua, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted criminal homicide.

Details on what led to the shooting were not immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.

According to Pinewood Canoe and Camp’s Web site, the campground hosted a music festival Saturday night.
