NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Richard Anderson, the only headmaster Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville has ever had, is retiring after 29 years and the school is putting on a big bash for him Saturday night at the Ryman Auditorium.

Anderson told News 2 it’s the students that kept him doing what he did for so long.

“Students would be the reason you go into this profession, to make a permanent difference in the life of a child, and that's what keeps ‘ya, it's what keeps you here, going to plays and ball games and things students are involved in,” he said.

Anderson started at CPA in 1985.

CPA parent Steven Curtis-Chapman will host Saturday’s event at the Ryman.

Other CPA artist alumni will also perform joined by the school's current choir, dance team and band.
