Semi truck catches fire, closes lanes of I-24

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two lanes of Interstate 24 was closed Thursday morning after a tractor trailer caught fire.

The accident happened after Midnight in eastbound lanes near the White Creeks Pike exit, just north of the city.

The truck was destroyed by the fire.  No one was injured.

News 2 learned it was travelling from Iowa to Lebanon, Tenn. with coffee and tea.

Both right lanes of I-24 east were closed to traffic as crews worked to move the truck from the shoulder off the interstate.  Officials said they expect to return after morning rush our traffic to completely move the truck.
