Titans open voluntary mini-camp Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans are one of seven NFL teams getting a head start on the season.  The Titans opened a three day voluntary mini-camp Tuesday in Nashville.

Every team with a new coaching staff was allowed to start an off season workout two weeks early and was allowed the early mini-camp.

New head coach Ken Whisenhunt was pleased with getting his team on the field in a competitive situation, which also gives the team a chance to figure out what they have prior to next week’s NFL Draft.

Whisenhunt added, “One thing I said is you're not [going to] make the team, today or in this minicamp. This is really more about finding out about what you can do.”

Attendance was strong for the Titans and it includes quarterback Jake Locker who is recovering from foot surgery.

Locker took part in individual drills and remains confident about his return.

The Titans open their season on the road in Kansas City against the Chiefs on September 7.
