CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Clarksville police are investigating the death of a man killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning. They are still searching for the person responsible.

According to police, motorists found 30-year-old Kyle Prezlomski lying on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard at 2:30 a.m.

He was taken to Gateway Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

“I am just devastated by the fact someone that young lost his life to carelessness,” said Chris Rigdon, Prezlomski’s best friend.

The two planned to move to Nashville as roommates on Sunday.

Rigdon said Prezlomski, a single father of a five-year-old boy, was walking home from his job at The Lodge Sports Pub in Clarksville when the driver allegedly hit him and took off.

“There is really no excuse for anything like that,” said Rigdon.

He now has a message for the person who is responsible. “You took away my best friend, a guy that I dearly loved, and that other people loved as well. I think you should answer for your actions,” he said.

Prezlomski's funeral is set for Saturday in his hometown of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver that struck Prezlomski is urged to call Clarksville Police Officer Bill Van Beber III at 931-648-0656 ext. 5486. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
