Soccer game shooting leaves 1 injured in Edgehill

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was shot after playing an adult league soccer game in the Edgehill neighborhood of Nashville Sunday night.

The shooting occurred at 7:30 p.m. at E.S. Rose Park on 1000 Edgehill Avenue.

Officials told News 2 several fights between opposing teams broke out during the game which ultimately escalated to the shooting.

The gunman shot in the direction of the opposing team before fleeing the scene.

A 31-year-old man was hit in his shoulder.  He was taken to a nearby hospital with a non-critical wound.

The suspect's identity or description were not immediately known.

The investigation is ongoing.
