Thousands of kids take part in Kids Rock race

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Thousands of kids took part in the 13th Kids Rock race Sunday at LP Field.

The race is for children in grades K-7 and is organized every year by the YMCA of Middle Tennessee.

More than 6,000 kids ran in the one mile race, which is a culmination of a school based program to tackle childhood obesity.

Mayor Karl Dean was at the finish like to greet children as they finished. The event was not timed and was non-competitive.
