Bride in Pennsylvania shoots, kills niece hours after wedding

NEW BRIGHTON, PA - A Pennsylvania bride is facing charges after police said she shot and killed her niece hours after walking down the aisle Thursday.

Christina George-Harvan, 30, has been charged with homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

According to USA Today, George-Harvan was at a wedding party to celebrate her marriage when she reportedly got into an argument with her niece, 21-year-old Katelyn "Kaytee" Francis in a parking lot outside a bar. The pair was in disagreement about who would drive home.

Authorities said George-Harvan pulled out her new husband’s handgun and shot Francis.

Francis was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

George-Harvan is being held without bond in the county jail.
