CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A 21-year-old Clarksville man is in custody for the stabbing death of a woman early Wednesday morning.

Nancy Lowry, a single mother of three, was found with multiple stab wounds at the Miller Town Apartments on Jack Miller Boulevard around 2:30 a.m.

It’s devastating. I heard rambling, and then I heard a scream,” nearby resident Vicki McCullum said. “She was screaming help! He’s going to kill me.”

Lowery, 37, was transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Lowry’s three children were not injured in the violent attack. Her two older children were able to escape the unit and run to a nearby neighbor’s apartment.

Joshua Black was identified as a suspect and charged with criminal homicide. He is being held in the Montgomery County jail without bond.

A motive was not released.

Lowry’s children are now in the care of their grandmother.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is urged to call Clarksville police detectives at 931-648-0656.
