ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. - A man accidentally shot his father-in-law while hunting in Cedar Hill.

According to Smokey Barn News, the incident happened Friday around 2 p.m. in the 3000 block of Glen Raven Road.

Authorities said the father-in-law was standing downhill when he was hit several times.

When first responders arrived, the victim had stop bleeding; however he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by life flight since he had wounds to his head, neck and chest.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities said the shooting was accidental because the son-in-law did not see his father-in-law when he shot his gun.
