OTTAWA, CANADA - A family in Ottawa, Canada is trying to find out why their 10-month-old son cannot open his mouth.

Andrew Scott told ABC News his son Wyatt was born with a rare condition called congenital trismus, which causes him to
have a locked jaw.

Doctors were nervous that he could not breathe when he was born, so he spent the first three months of his life in the hospital.

Since then, Wyatt’s family had to call 911 six different times because he was chocking. They have also administered CPR on the
baby.

"It's an unusual situation where he can’t open his mouth, and there’s no kind of obvious reason for it,” explained Dr. J. P.
Vaccani, a pediatric otolaryngologist at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. “Otherwise, he’s a healthy boy."

To help in the search for answers, Wyatt’s mother has set up a Web site called WhatsWrongWithWyatt.com.

The family hopes someone will read Wyatt’s story and can offer solutions.
