ETHRIDGE, Tenn. - Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with two armed robberies and a hit-and-run involving three Amish residents of Lawrence County.

An Amish man was robbed at gunpoint last Thursday in the Waterfork Road area, and another shortly after near Dooley Road and Campbellsville Pike. A third person was the victim of a hit-and-run involving the suspect’s vehicle.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to the first scene where a description of the suspect’s vehicle was given. Authorities were able to connect the vehicle to both the second robbery and the hit-and-run.

"We developed information that this was probably going to be another robbery, but a vehicle came along and spooked them off," Sheriff Jimmy Brown said of the hit-and-run.

While investigating the second robbery, the vehicle was spotted driving past a nearby residence. A deputy attempted to pull the car over, but the occupant did not stop.

The driver, Stacy Hancock, 36, was arrested later that day in Giles County, but two others fled the scene.

As investigators gathered more evidence, information obtained on Monday led them to Adam Garland, 34, of Lawrenceburg, and Richard Busby, 40, of Ethridge.

Stolen property from the robberies was recovered as a result of the new information, and the two men were arrested.

Garland was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and theft and is being held in the Lawrence County Detention Center on $110,000 bond.

Busby was charged with aggravated robbery and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Stacey Hancock remains in custody and is also facing a charge of aggravated robbery.

The two men may face additional charges, as the investigation is ongoing.
