Nashville Sounds fall to Memphis Redbirds 7-1

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -

The Nashville Sounds gave up six runs in the eighth inning, losing 7-1 to the Memphis Redbirds.

The game was tied at one heading into the eighth inning before Audry Perez scored the first of six for the Redbirds.

Joey Butler and Peter Kozma scored next for Memphis on an Oscar Taveras line drive single to right field.

Stephen Piscotty, Scott Moore and Taveras finished the scoring frenzy for the Redbirds.

Eugenio Velez had the only run for the Sounds. He scored on a line drive single from Matt Pagnozzi in the bottom of the fifth.

The Sounds continue their series against Memphis at Greer Stadium Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
