MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Family and friends gathered Monday night to remember the teenage boy tragically killed last week on Interstate 24.

Clifton Braunwalder, 13, was hit on Thursday while changing his mother's flat tire near the Sam Ridley Parkway exit in Smyrna.

The teen, who was an active member of St. Rose Lima Catholic Church and a Boy Scout, was honored with a candlelight vigil.

"He was my best friend," Duncan Duboys said. "I will miss him."

Braunwalder's funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Tina Wilson, the woman accused in the deadly hit-and-run accident, remains jailed on several charges including vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.

Police said Wilson, 33, of Murfreesboro, was driving at a high rate of speed when she switched lanes and lost control.

Wilson's car crossed over the center lane into the emergency lane under the Sam Ridley Parkway overpass.

On Monday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said they want to speak to a man that was seen talking to Wilson and her passenger minutes after the fatal accident.

THP Sgt. Bill Miller told News 2 they want to ask the man about the conversation he had with Wilson and her passenger, Jennifer Hernandez.

Miller said the man is not a suspect or even a person of interest they just want to talk to him for more insight as their investigation progresses.
