LOS ANGELES -

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was detained at Los Angeles International Airport after he reportedly made a bomb threat.

According to ABC 7, the 25-year-old became belligerent after he was randomly selected for a secondary screening.

Smith then made a comment suggesting he was in possession of a bomb.

He was taken to the Los Angeles Police Department for booking.

The 49ers star has had run-ins with the law in the past.

He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his car into a tree in San Jose last year.

Smith also pled not guilty to owning three assault weapons that are illegal in California.
