NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police said a fire at an abandoned grocery store in Old Hickory is suspicious.

Firefighters received a call about the blaze at Rayon City General Store around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Once the fire was out, authorities spent hours going through debris searching for clues.

Officials told News 2 the fire is suspicious because there was no electricity to the building. The store closed last November and the owner has passed away.

Neighbors said they saw kids fleeing the store after the fire started. They also said kids hang out in that area regularly.

"We've got a lot of young boys who walk around and they're trying to find something to do. They'll get into pretty much anything," explained Joshua Neville.

No suspects have been named.

Police said the owner of Rayon City General also owned another building that caught on fire in February.
