A Metro police officer was injured in an accident in downtown Nashville Friday night.

It occurred behind the Greyhound bus station on 5th Avenue South and Ash Street shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Authorities told News 2 a Greyhound bus broadside a Metro police officer's car.

The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

No details were immediately available about his condition or what led to the accident.
