PARIS, Tenn. -

A church in Paris, Tenn. was turned upside down by vandals Wednesday evening.

According to the Paris Post-Intelligencer, authorities responded to a burglary call from Bethesda United Methodist Church around 5:30 p.m. and found a flag pole sticking through one of the entrances.

Inside, the sanctuary was torn apart.  Pews were overturned, tables were scattered around, crosses were thrown on the floor and an angel statue was shattered.

One of the sanctuary windows was also busted.

Officers found the donation jar emptied of the money it contained, and another entrance to the building was also vandalized.

Police said several deep tire tracks were found in the vicinity.

There are no known suspects at this time.
