NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A Tennessee program designed to help financially struggling homeowners with their mortgages will soon end.

Since 2010, the Keep My Tennessee Home Hardest Hit program has helped thousands of residents who are facing foreclosure.

However, the federally funded program is running out of money and is expected to end sometime this summer.

"We want to get the word out to people who need help that there is still time to get assistance but it is running out," said Brenda Bryant, Executive Director at Life of Victory International Christian Ministries, an organization that helps individuals who are residents of Davidson and Rutherford counties.

Life of Victory is one of 27 agencies statewide that is currently administering the program.

Those who qualify may be eligible to receive up to $40,000 to go toward mortgage payments.

The program provides assistance to individuals who have recently gone through a life change such as job loss or divorce.  It also helps those who are substantially underemployed and individuals on disability who can't make their mortgage payments.

Residents of Davidson and Rutherford Counties who need assistance should call 615-213-1468.
