NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man was arrested on aggravated kidnapping charges after police say he forced his girlfriend into his car before assaulting her.

The incident began Sunday at Cragnacker's Bar and Grill in Hermitage when the victim stated she and her boyfriend were dancing with other people.

At one point, the victim says her boyfriend, 30-year-old Dejuan Pittman, became upset.

The two went outside to argue when Pittman allegedly slammed the victim against the car before forcing her inside and driving off.

Police said he drove to a nearby McDonald's on Lebanon Pike where he handcuffed his girlfriend when she got out of the car.

Pittman is accused of then slamming her onto the ground, choking her, removing the handcuffs and taking off with her purse.

The victim was left with marks on her wrists and scraps on her right forearm.

Pittman was eventually arrested Tuesday afternoon and booked into Metro jail on $50,000 bond.

He faces one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of robbery.
