WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. -

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 27-year-old Robertson County man for unlawful possession of a weapon after shooting his pet dog because it attacked him.

Brandon Watson, of White House, Tenn., was allegedly intoxicated and swinging a sword around 9 p.m. on Monday in his front yard on Pleasant Grove Road where the family's pitbull was chained up to a tree. The provoked dog then bit him on the back of his right leg.

He was transported to Skyline Medical Center to have his injuries treated.

Watson's wife told officials she heard her husband scream for her to call 911 and later heard gunshots.

After officials spoke with the wife, it was discovered that Watson had two felony drug convictions as well as two pending felony charges for possession of Schedule VI for resale and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Watson's two swords, Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun, 1 magazine, 2 spent .40 caliber brass shell casings and 3 .40 caliber rounds of ammunition were seized and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
