BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -
A Brentwood mother and more than two dozen teens face alcohol-related charges following a weekend party.
Police were called to Krista Cole's home on Shady Place Saturday after receiving complaints of a loud party.
Responding officers saw at least three teens outside drinking what appeared to be alcohol.
Police obtained a search warrant and inside the home found a total of 25 teens, some as young as 15 years old, drinking alcohol.
Cole, 49, was also in the home. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor but was not taken into custody by police.
Two adult teens, aged 18 and 19, were cited for underage possession of alcohol. All 23 juveniles were cited as well.
The juveniles were released into the custody of their parents and will have to appear in Williamson County Juvenile Court at a later date.
No one answered the door at Cole's home when News 2 went to the house Tuesday. A message left on the family voicemail was also not returned.
"This is the largest number we have actually charged before," Brentwood Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh said. "We have dealt with parties this large in the past, but typically we don't have to go to the extreme of getting a search warrant."
Assistant Chief Walsh said officers charged all of the teens in part because the department had to expend extra resources to secure the home until a search warrant was obtained.
Officers on scene noted that they could see teens continue to drink inside the home as they waited for the search warrant.
"Obviously we have concerns any time we believe there are young people consuming alcohol," Asst. Chief Walsh said.
Neighbors in the Shady Place area say there are frequently large numbers of cars at the Cole house and parties were common.
They did not want to be identified, but neighbors said they also long suspected that underage drinking was taking place inside the house.
Brentwood police told News 2 the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
