MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A pickup truck crossed Interstate 24 and collided with a charter bus Thursday morning in Rutherford County.

It happened at 9:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-24 at mile marker 95, southeast of Murfreesboro.

The driver of the pickup truck, 68-year-old Morris Guidry, was driving east when he crossed the median into the westbound lanes and hit the left side of the charter bus, leaving significant damage.

The pickup then landed in a ditch.

Guidry was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by life-flight.

Authorities believe he had a medical emergency, causing the accident.

None of the 49 passengers on the charter bus were hurt.

Westbound I-24 was closed while crews cleared the scene.
