Men arrested, connected to multiple Nashville robberies

Two men were arrested Tuesday night in connection to multiple hold-ups in the Germantown neighborhood of north Nashville and Hermitage.

Police stated parolee Marvin Whitson, 50, and probation absconder Walter Hooks, 29, were taken into custody at the InTown Suites on Murfreesboro Pike.

The arrests came after a robbery in the 1100 block of 5th Avenue North after the victim reported he was pistol-whipped, during which the gun fired.  The suspects stole his keys and wallet.

About 30 minutes later, Hermitage precinct officers responded to another robbery in the 300 block of Fessler's lane.  Two men wearing pantyhose over their faces ordered four men to the ground at gunpoint and took their personal belongings.

The suspects fled in a white Ford Explorer, which was soon tracked to the inn on Murfreesboro Pike.

Whitson and Hooks were arrested and connected to the Hermitage robbery.  They each face four counts of aggravated robbery in that case.

Charges are pending in the earlier robbery as well as another that occurred Sunday in Germantown.

The investigation is ongoing.

Both men have previous convictions for aggravated robbery and assault.
