A California truck driver won $650,000 from the state lottery just one day after his beloved wife died from a heart attack on March 22.
Timothy McDaniel told ABC News he believes his late wife sent him the money so he could help take care of their grandchildren.
"Everything happens for a reason and this is the break I needed," he said. "I'm going to keep on working and living my life the same I always have. The only difference is I have a big family and now if anybody needs anything I can help them out."
McDaniel, 55, opted for the lump sum of the prize money which is around $375,000 before taxes.
He said he plans to buy a house, a truck and save the rest of his winnings.
