NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man was arrested in east Nashville on Tuesday after police learned he set his own house on fire for the second time in recent months.

According to an affidavit, 31-year-old Sribounthai Keopanya was seen by a witness walking away from a fire in the 300 block of South 17th Street.

Officers located Keopanya who reportedly told them he lived in the home and was inside when the fires were set.

A total of five separate unconnected fires were located inside, causing structural as well as smoke damage through the residence.

Police stated family members informed them it was the second time in past months that Keopanya has set fire to his home.

Authorities also said he gave responding officers a driver's license with a name different from his own before they found his real ID inside the burned home.

Keopanya was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation and arson.

He was booked into the Metro jail on $60,000 bond.
