INSTAR, The Indian Society of Third Party Assisted Reproduction, has organised a “SURROGACY WALK” on the 20th April from The Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.

For the first time in India, approximately 500 surrogate mothers and their family members who have supported them in their surrogacy journey and others directly or indirectly involved in Third Party Reproduction in India will be participating. This includes Recognized ART consultants from across the country, International Patients, Babies Born by Surrogacy, Lawyers, Social Workers, NGO’s, ART Banks etc.

Indian surrogate mothers who are a part of an NGO will be making special T-Shirts for the Walk. The message of the ‘Surrogacy Walk’ is “SURROGACY BUILDS FAMILIES”.

Following this a very prestigious workshop will be held in New Delhi. With an acedemic focus the workshop will give insight into medical, legal, ethical & social aspects in third-party ART in India, with leaders in the field from the legal, medical and government sector sharing the latest up-to-date information and clarifying questions; International Surrogacy and its requirements will also be discussed by experts. A set of paperwork for this complex procedures will also be released so as to standardise and have comprehensive documentation for procedures.

INSTAR President Dr Himanshu Bavishi says “India is at par with the world in ART facilities and services. The quality of medical care has drawn people from all over the world to India as a preferred destination, particularly for surrogacy. With increasing awareness and positive attitude of the society, use of such ART is fast developing amongst Indians also, even amongst the most rural or orthodox communities.”

Indian Society for Third Party Assisted Reproduction INSTAR is formed with the noble intention of taking care of all the parties involved in third party reproduction. As a very first move, INSTAR has declared the minimum compensation amounts for the surrogate mothers. INSTAR equally intends to do the same for sperm or egg donors.

INSTAR will be the first society which asks the members to follow the “INSTAR STANDARDS.” This will create a very good trust worthiness for all members of INSTAR and the ART practices in India.

Many international new parents who cannot be present for the walk are sending support messages and youTube videos for their surrogate mothers who are part of the program.

The event will provide opportunity to interact face to face with many surrogate mothers snd every body involved in the field of third party ART.

Indian Surrogacy has fulfilled the dreams of many people around the world and this program is a good initiative for the surrogacy capital of the world which has now come of age.
