City of La Vergne auctioning off fire trucks

LA VERGNE, Tenn. -

The city of La Vergne is auctioning off two fire trucks in one of its biggest government auctions yet.

Over 40 items have been placed for auction on the Web site GovDeals including cars, furniture, romance novels and fire trucks.

"The Board of Mayor and Aldermen reviews items the city no longer needs and determines if they can be sold as surplus," City Administrator Bruce Richardson said in a release. "All items auctioned are sold as-is and where-is, so it is up to the buyer to research and inspect the item prior to bidding."

Vehicles up for auction include a 1994 International 4900 fire truck, a 1985 Mack MC686FC fire truck, a 2003 Nissan Xterra XE 4WD, a 1992 Cadillac Deville Sedan, and a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD.

The auction will last until Monday April 14, and buyers can bid by registering for a GovDeals account.
