NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police are looking for new clues in a cold case where a man was killed when his car broke down on Interstate 40.

Carl Williams was  shot and killed in April of 1994 near Old Hickory Boulevard in Hermitage.

He was walking to get help after his car broke down.

Detectives believe a semi-truck driver pulled up next to Williams and shot him before driving off.  The murder was random.

"There's not much for them to go on. There are very few leads, and I know that the police department has done everything that they can do. They've followed up on everything that there was to follow up on, which was not very much. It's just a really bizarre case," explained his sister Connie Williams.

Although there are few clues in the case, Williams said she is not giving up hope.

"I can't do that. I always will have to, I guess, maintain some type of hope that it will be solved," she told News 2.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Metro police at 615-862-8600.
