COLUMBIA, Tenn. -

Police arrested a man for shooting an acquaintance outside a home in Columbia late Wednesday night.

Maury County deputies and Columbia police officers got a tip Thursday morning that 32-year-old Kenya Yokley was at the Spring Hill Kroger on Royal Parkway.

When officers arrived they found Yokely sitting in his car using his cell phone outside of Subway and arrested him.

Authorities said Yokley shot Joseph Robertson, 31, eight times just before Midnight in the 1600 block of Jamie Drive Wednesday.

A motive was not immediately released, but police said Robertson, who was visiting a friend on Jamie Drive, was the intended target.

He was charged with attempted first degree murder and reckless endangerment and booked into the Maury County jail.

Following the shooting, Robertson was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was listed Thursday in critical but stable condition.
