Very Windy Thursday; Storms Possibly Strong Friday Overnight

Posted:

First of all, we will begin a very windy warm-up on Thursday, with winds increasing from the south 20-35 mph with some gusts possible 40 mph plus.

Construction workers, drivers of high profile vehicles and boaters on area lakes should be advised of dangerous wind conditions on Thursday.

These winds will be "non thunderstorm" winds, though we do expect two rounds of storms to push through.

Round #1 will be Thursday night through early Friday and is not expected to be severe, though there could be wind damage from the "non thunderstorm" winds ahead of the storms.

Although there could be scattered activity on Friday during the day, the next round of storms that could be strong or severe will push in overnight Friday night through early Saturday morning.

Those storms could produce damaging winds, along with large hail.  An isolated tornado can't totally be ruled out.
