JG ROTTERDAM, Netherlands -

A terminally ill zoo worker saying goodbye to the animals for the last time received special farewell from a giraffe.

Mario, a 54-year-old handicapped man, has worked as a cleaner at the Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands for 25 years.

Upon learning of his cancer diagnosis, Mario said he wanted to say goodbye to the animals at the zoo.

He was brought to his workplace on a stretcher when one of the zoo's giraffes reached down and nuzzled Mario for a goodbye kiss.
