Man charged with using sword to kill his father pleads guilty to manslaughter

CHARLESTON, SC - A man charged with killing his father in 2012 has plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter.  Walker was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the killing.

Elias Walker was charged with killing his father, 45-year-old Anthony Walker, while he slept by stabbing him with a sword September 17, 2012.

September 17, 2012 police were called to room 21 of the Fort Moultrie Motel, where Anthony Walker was found lying on the floor with multiple head wounds.  The police report noted that Elias Walker had an "unusually calm demeanor considering how severely his father was injured". 

Walker told the court his father was trying to kill him and that's why he fatally stabbed him multiple times with a sword.  

Walker initially told police he left to go buy beer and when he returned he found his father on the floor with a larges cuts on head and neck.  He later confessed.
