Neighbor acts fast, helps land burglar in jail

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An man was arrested Thursday afternoon in west Nashville after a neighbor spotted him acting suspiciously at the home behind his house.

The neighbor called police at 1:10 p.m. and explained a man wearing a hat and gloves while carrying a backpack had just entered the home behind his on Michigan Avenue.

When officers responded, they witnessed the man, later identified as 33-year-old Raymond Shyloski, exiting the home.

Shyloski saw police and went back inside then locked the door, according to a release.

He surrendered soon after and allegedly admitted to going through the homeowner's prescription medication.

Police reported they found a crowbar inside his backpack.

Shyloski was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and possession of burglary tools.

He is being held at the Metro jail on $12,000 bond.
