NEW YORK -

A New Jersey teen was arrested for trespassing over the weekend after he managed to breach security and climb up to the top of the World Trade Center.

According to ABC News, the 16-year-old told police he climbed the Freedom Tower so he could take photographs.

The minor was taken into police custody after a construction supervisor saw him coming down the more than 1,100 foot tall building.

Officials said the teen had to squeeze through a 12x12-inch hole to reach the building's antenna.

Security at 1 World Trade Center, which was believed to have been impossible to get through, is under investigation.

ABC News reported one security guard, who was asleep at the time, has since been fired.
