Woman's purse stolen while making funeral arrangements for mother

Police are searching for a man who stole a 74-year-old woman's purse from the trunk of her vehicle while she was at a funeral home making arrangements for her late mother.

The elderly woman, who did not want to be identified, told News 2 she did not realize the trunk of car didn't shut all the way when she placed her purse inside of it.

Later, while at a restaurant she discovered her purse, credit cards and checks were all missing.

"I've cried every day," she said. "We come home and I'm shaking, just shaking all over. I was scared to death and felt violated."

Police say the suspect in last month's crime is a suspect in a series of auto burglaries spanning from Nashville to Goodlettsville.

In surveillance videos from a gas station and CVS pharmacy, the suspect is seen using a credit card that was stolen from a woman's purse at an O'Charley's restaurant.

The unidentified suspect is believed to be driving a white Chevy Impala.

Anyone with information on the man's identity or whereabouts is urged to call Goodlettsville police at 615-859-3405.
