Sheriff's office offers free rides on St. Patrick's Day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

For the 11th year in a row, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office is offering free rides to St. Patrick's Day revelers who may be too intoxicated to drive home.

The Sober Ride program is run by employees of the sheriff's office who volunteer their time to give rides to anyone out celebrating.

Officials emphasize that rides are available to anyone needing a ride home within Davidson County, "no questions asked."

There are four pick-up locations: Second Avenue at Broadway, Demonbreun Street near the roundabout, Five Points in east Nashville, and Division Street in Midtown.

The Sober Ride program runs from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday into Tuesday morning.
