2 trapped inside car after crash in Smyrna

SMYRNA, Tenn. -

Two people became trapped inside their car after a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Smyrna.

The accident took place in the 1500 block of Baker Road near One Mile Lane around 5:30 a.m.

One victim was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the other was transported via ambulance.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.  Officials on the scene told News 2 they were conscious while being rescued.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.  The car somehow left the roadway and snapped a power line.

Baker Road was blocked off in both directions as crews worked to clear the scene.  Traffic was redirected to One Mile Lane.
