Ga. bill to ticket 'slow-poke' drivers heads to Governor

A bill that would allow officers to ticket slow drivers that linger in the left lane of traffic on interstates is just a pen-stroke away from becoming law.

Georgia's House Bill 459 states a driver would have to move out of the passing lane when they realize a faster car is coming up from behind.

It would be a misdemeanor penality.

The bill passed the House vote on February 26.  The Senate passed the bill with a vote of 42-5 on Tuesday.

Once Nathan Deal, the governor of Georgia, signs the bill, it will become a state law.
