GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. -

A man is facing child neglect charges after police found him unresponsive with an empty bottle of vodka by his side while his children were playing the street.

According to an affidavit, police received a complaint about two small children playing in the street and making obscene gestures at cars as they passed by.

When a cop got to the scene, the two kids ran into a room in the America's Best Value in Goodlettsville.  The cop followed them in and found their father, Dustin King, on the couch with an empty bottle of vodka by his side.

When the officer told the children to stay inside, they reportedly slammed the door in his face and told him to never come back.

When the officer went back to the room, King, 28, was in his bed under the covers.  He told the officers he could not care for the children and was placed under arrest.

Along with the two kids playing in the street, police found a child in a car seat in the room with a diaper that had not been changed in hours.

King was charged with three counts of child neglect.
