NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A suspect in an attempted aggravated robbery was identified through photos from a Halloween party that took place last year.

Louis Waters, 18, was arrested Wednesday after he and another suspect allegedly attempted to enter a home in the 1000 block of 40th Avenue last November.

The resident of the home woke up to his door being kicked and went to investigate.

After confronting the suspects, one later identified as Waters and a second unidentified young black male, the victim attempted to leave his home and drive away.

According to an affidavit, the suspects followed him, demanded money, punched him in the face and shot him in the lower abdomen.

The suspects then fled to a neighboring home.

The victim drove himself to the hospital and had to undergo surgery.

Waters' identity was discovered when the victim told police he recognized Waters as having attended a Halloween party at his home.  The victim provided police a photo of himself with Waters from the event.

Waters was finally arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted criminal homicide and attempted especially aggravated robbery.

He remains in the Metro jail on a $525,000 bond.

The second suspect has yet to be identified.
