MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A Murfreesboro sixth grader is donating her hair and raising money for childhood cancer.

Kylie Hunter, 11, is participating in the Murfreesboro St. Baldrick's Foundation Fundraiser.

So far, she has raised more than $800 for the event. Next week, she will take her good deed a step further by shaving her head and donating her hair.

Kylie, who is a gymnast, will make her brave move right before a state competition in Memphis.

"I don't think that will matter, because I think people who have hair and people who don't have hair are still beautiful either way and I still think I'm gonna look fine," Kylie said.

Kylie's gymnastics instructor said she is a straight A student who is passionate about everything she does.
