Pekka Rinne expected to start Tuesday against Penguins

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

After a brief rehab stint in Milwaukee, goaltender Pekka Rinne is expected to start Tuesday night for the Predators as they face the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Rinne missed 51 games after undergoing surgery on his hip in October. The two-time Vezina Trophy finalist participated in his first full practice with the team just two weeks ago.

Doctors cleared him for game action and then Rinne was sent to Milwaukee for a rehab assignment.

In two games with the Admirals, Rinne stopped 33-of-35 shots against to post a 0.99 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage, winning both contests. In his last five NHL starts prior to surgery, Rinne was 3-1-1 with a 1.60 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage.

The Predators face the Pittsburgh Penguins Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
