Police: Girl, 4, dies after being attacked by dogs

TALLASSEE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a four-year-old girl has died after a dog attack in Tallassee.

Tallassee Police Chief Jimmy Rodgers tells WAKA-TV that the attack it happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday in on the south side of Tallassee on Lower Tuskegee Road.

Rodgers says authorities are not certain how many dogs attacked the child. She received numerous injuries.

WAKA reports that two dogs have been taken to a local veterinarian for evaluation.

The girl's name was not released, and few other details were immediately available early Thursday morning.
