NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Four people are in custody following a home invasion and police pursuit Wednesday morning that ended near a south Nashville elementary school.

Police said the suspects forced their way into a home on Grigsby Road in the Highlands at Ladd Park subdivision in Franklin around 10 a.m. and then led officers on a pursuit into Davidson County.

According to Franklin police, a male resident at the home was getting out of the shower when he was surprised by a suspect who held him at gunpoint as others began to tie him up.

The three men and a woman then stole several guns, a television, and other items before fleeing the home.

After the suspects left, the resident was able to go to a neighbor's home for help.

People who live in the area didn't want to talk on camera, but Antoan Bryant, who works in the subdivision, called the break-in unfortunate.

"It's a peaceful area, nice people, good hard working, quite so to see something like this happen it's terrible," said Bryant.

The suspects were spotted a short time after the invasion by a Williamson County detective traveling north on Interstate 65 in Brentwood in a white van.

The driver led Brentwood police and the Williamson County detective on a pursuit into south Nashville.

The pursuit ended when the suspects' van crashed into a fence at the Prestige Pointe Apartments near Paragon Mills Elementary School off Paragon Mills Drive and Harding Place.

Maurice Chapman, 26, Emily Faulkner, 20, Mario Flores, 26, and Keyona Newell, 29, were apprehended immediately.

They are each being held on $250,000 bonds for aggravated robbery and are scheduled to appear in court next month.

Police said items from the home invasion were recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges against the suspects are forthcoming.

Paragon Mills Elementary School was on lockdown while officers searched for a fifth person who jumped from the van and managed to flee.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
