Police believe two separate overnight shootings that claimed the life of a man and woman may be connected.
Gregory Johnson, 26, was shot near Joseph Avenue and Grace Street in east Nashville around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. The gunshot victim continued to drive down Joseph Avenue before he crash through a fence at the Salvation Army located at 631 Dickerson Pike. Johnson was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police responded to a second deadly shooting involving a 19-year-old woman just after 2 a.m. Monday morning. Daresha Cole was shot inside her PT Cruiser in the 3300 block of Chesapeake Circle in Madison.
Detectives have since learned Johnson and Cole were friends.Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
